THE Island's music community is coming together in support of Ukraine.
Over the next two Sundays, local musicians will be playing in Quay Arts' Anthony Minghella Theatre and main cafe to raise money for Island-based MAD-Aid.
MAD-Aid is co-ordinating the Isle of Wight collection of donated items and transport to hospitals in Ukraine and neighbouring Moldova, where many Ukrainians refugees have sought sanctuary.
The event is the idea of local musician Jim Thorn who is also the organiser of the Isle of Wight Jazz Weekend.
Entry is free but donations are asked for.
The exact line-up is still to be finalised but many popular local musicians have agreed to donate their time free of charge, including Paul Armfield, Sunny and Blue Brown, Cat Skellington, Fellowship of Groove, Gary Plumley, Damien Paul, JC and Angelina and many others, including Jim himself and his jazz trio.

Jim said: "I am delighted to have had such a positive response from Quay Arts, MAD-Aid and local musicians.
"I am aiming to put on a varied programme of jazz, blues and folk acts culminating in jam sessions where everyone can mix and match. There should be something for everyone.
"It's free entry with all donations to MAD-Aid to help them fund their deliveries and trips out to Ukraine and neighbouring Moldova."
Local businesses are also invited to make donations of gifts for a raffle to be run on each day with all proceeds to MAD-Aid.
"A full line-up with timings will be available on the Music for Ukraine Facebook page and the Quay Arts website. All enquiries should go to jimthorn1@aol.com
