WE ARE supposed to be planting trees, not felling them.
I totally agree with Alice Jones’s concerns (CP, 11-03-22) about the proposed reintroduction of beavers.
It is great that everybody is to have a say on the decision, but, like Alice, once discovering the leaflet was totally one-sided I also did my own research.

I learnt that imported beavers have the potential to carry tapeworm, a parasite which can be fatal for dogs and humans.
Even more worryingly though, a single family of beavers can fell up to 300 trees a year.
This will not sit well with the big push to plant hundreds of trees on Island as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy.
