The Isle of Wight's rolling average number of Covid-19 cases stood at 802.6 per 100,000 people in the seven days to March 11, the most up-to-date figures.

It means cases of coronavirus appear to be rising here again.

It has pushed the Island into the dark purple category on the government's interactive heat map.

The UK average was 649.4 over the same time period.

It comes after a warning by Isle of Wight health bosses, as reported by the Isle of Wight County Press earlier this week, for Islanders to remain vigilant and cautious.

Meanwhile, more Covid-19 linked deaths in the Isle of Wight's community were reported, in data revealed this week.
