Judith and Charlotte Corney will star in a Q and A on Saturday (March 19) to raise funds for Sandown's Wildheart Animal Sanctuary's new Primate Rescue Facility.

Organisers of An Evening With The Corneys say we should expect personal insights into their extraordinary family history.

Maybe you remember their strolls along Yaverland beach, with a tiger in tow?

Perhaps you have heard about the times lemurs went with them on the school run, or saw Jack Corney milk venomous snakes?

How did the Corney family end up buying the zoo on the Isle of Wight?

In 1976, Jack Corney bought what was then dubbed "Britain’s Slum Zoo" and set about nursing the animals and the site back to health.

Nestled in Sandown's historic fort, it is now one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular attractions.

The fundraising evening, from 6.30pm (talk at 7.30pm), will be a chance to discover more about the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary’s past, present and future.

All proceeds from the evening will go to its planned new Primate Rescue Facility.
