A 10-year-old Comic Relief fundraiser who raised £700 last year aims to make over £1,000 this year by recruiting some of her friends to help.

Tallulah, from West Wight, sold salted caramel chocolate chip brownies from a roadside ‘Shed Shop’ near her home last year.

This year she is aiming to raise even more, recruiting her friends to make more treats and setting up her own fundraising stalls along a popular cycle route.

In 2021, Tallulah decided to fundraise for Comic Relief after seeing one of their films.

At first, she sold eggs from her chickens out of the Shed Shop but decided to bake with them instead, making hundreds of brownies.

Tallulah said: “It’s a top-secret family recipe that mum taught me, and I wrapped them up in paper bags with stickers I made myself.”

At least two would be sold every weekday, and at weekends they would fly off the shelves.

She added: “I was amazed when I realised I had raised £700. I’ve never really accomplished something like that before.

“This year I want to do even better and raise over £1,000, so I have asked my school friends and some local families to help.”

Tallulah has given them recipe cards so they can bake their own treats and sell them at different stalls along the nearby cycle route.

“The challenge can be a lot of fun, and it is really nice to help Comic Relief.

“I would tell any other children thinking about fundraising to be brave and don’t hold back.”
