Ryde's Inshore Lifeboat has launched in Storm Franklin today (Monday). The Coastguard helicopter also responded to the Solent - to a yacht called Flame.
Shortly before 11am, coastguards answered a 999 call from a member of the public, reporting a vessel stuck on a sandbar at Ryde beach.
Ryde Independent Lifeboat and Bembridge RNLI lifeboat were sent to assist, alongside Hill Head Coastguard Rescue Team and the Coastguard Helicopter from Lee-On-Solent.
The 40ft yacht, was towed to Portsmouth Harbour and the four people on board were transferred to Bembridge Lifeboat for the journey.
