A NEWPORT man has denied drug driving, on the grounds his blood was not correctly bagged and tagged.

Aaron Longman, of Catherine Terrace, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates this month.

The 21-year-old is charged with drug driving in Newport, on August 14, 2021.

He is alleged to have driven away from a public order incident with a smashed windscreen, and later tested positive for cannabis.

Jim Osborne, defending, said the numbers on his blood sample and the evidence bag did not match and there was a continuity issue.

Mr Longman saw his case adjourned to April 7 at the same venue.

He was granted unconditional bail.
