Red Funnel's operations director Leanna Lakes is advising passengers due to travel tomorrow and Saturday to consider using the car ferries, from East Cowes.

She said: "Due to Storm Eunice we are expecting possible disruption to our Red Jet service from the early hours of Friday February 18, through to the early hours of Monday February 21.

"Our vehicle ferries are expected remain in service, however crossing times may be extended.  Our teams are closely monitoring conditions and will continue to keep the live service status updated on our website and on our travel news page on Twitter. They will also issue notifications regarding any delays and cancellations to booked customers who have opted in to receive alerts."

"The safety of our passengers and crew is our number one priority. Any changes to our timetable are always based on factors including wind strength, wave height, tidal conditions, vessel operating limits and visibility. As with all high-speed vessels, our Red Jets can be more susceptible to delays caused by poor weather compared with the vehicle ferries, due to their operating limits."
