POLICE are investigating after two crashes happened in Arreton in the early hours this morning (Sunday).
A vehicle crashed into an electricity box on the pavement near the pedestrian crossing near the Newport/Sandown cycle path at Horringford, wiping the box out completely.
Further up the road, the A3056 towards Merstone, a car then came off the road, ending up on its roof, near a roadsign.
That crash happened at around 3am.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service did not attend the scene, but Isle of Wight Police did.
We have asked Hampshire Constabulary for more information.
UPDATE: Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed these were two separate crashes, one at 3.16am and one at 4.20am.
