THE Covid vaccine booster bus will not be serving the Island this weekend due to potential adverse weather.
The bus successfully rolled out to three towns on the Isle of Wight across four days last week with the capacity to give 1,750 Islanders their third booster jab.
It was set to do so again this week but the Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) confirmed no outdoor vaccinations will take place.
In an update on its website, the CCG has said it has taken the difficult decision to stand down the model for this weekend.
It said: "While we understand this will be disappointing, we have taken this decision in the interest of patient safety.
"We are working to provide more capacity in addition to booked appointments safely as quickly as possible."
A walk-in vaccine session is being held at Westridge Centre, in Ryde, on Saturday (December 11) for first, second or booster Covid doses from 9am to 3pm.
More appointments are being added to the national booking system daily, it said, and advise people to check regularly for any updates on its website or call 119.

Last week, the senior responsible officer and programme director for the Island's vaccination programme, Jane Ansell, said the bus would stay on the Island and deliver more vaccinations for another four days this week. No dates or further information had been released.
