AN ELDERLY man has died nearly a month after being hit by a car on Binstead Hill.

Isle of Wight Police have launched a witness appeal to help with their investigations.

The incident, between the pedestrian and a car, happened at 10.19am on Monday, November 15.

The man was taken to hospital having suffered serious injuries.

A police spokesperson said today: "Sadly, the man, from Binstead, has now died in hospital. His family are being supported.

"Officers investigating the incident have been making enquiries since that date and have spoken with some witnesses.

"They are keen to speak with anyone who may have information which will assist their enquiries.

"Anyone with information should call 101, quoting the reference 44210458416."
