AN OUTPOURING of love and grief has hit the Island community following the tragic death of young dancer Tayla Wright.
A fundraiser set up to help the teenager's family to give her "the send off she deserves" has raised more than £8,000 in just a few hours.
It was set up by Starlight Academy, Tayla's beloved dance school. Scroll down for the link to donate.
Tayla's family said, through the page, they wanted "everyone to know how incredibly brave she was and proud of her they are. By choosing to donate her organs, Tayla has gone on to save seven young children's lives."
The fundraiser said the devastating loss was a "terrible accident".
"As you are all aware, we have recently lost a very special young lady from our community.
"Tayla had a zest for life and such a passion for dance, we have struggled to find photos where she isn’t either being silly or in some form of dance pose.
"Tay loved to help the younger children and assist in dance classes, she loved to make people laugh, she was fearless and would always be the first to try any challenging dance moves.
"She was very much looking forward to an upcoming competition where she would get to dance her brand new street solo.
"Tayla was a career driven young lady, who had her whole life planned out in front of her.
"She wanted to go to The Urdang Academy in London to become a professional dancer, then go off and see the world dancing on cruise ships, before coming back to take over the starlight studio whether I was ready to retire or not.
"This GoFundMe is to support her family through this unimaginable time.
"Any funds left over from the funeral and celebration of life party will go to the paediatric intensive care unit at Southampton General, who her family are so very grateful for the care and love she was given."
A hashtag across social media is being shared as #doitfortay and candles were being lit across online platforms in memory of Tayla.
Tayla was a pupil at Cowes Enterprise College.
The school has donated £500 to the fund and has added support for parents/carers around bereavement and loss to its website, which can be found by clicking here.
