In September, Jordan B reviewed their visit, writing: "I have been trekking all around the IOW all day and so I arrived in Newport a bit unsure where to eat.
"Stumbled across the Man in the moon and wow what an experience. As soon as I arrived the staff greeted me and showed me to an empty table.
"I ordered lasagne which was piping hot and cooked perfectly.
"I ordered a side of chips and onion rings.
"Both were fresh and fried just right, the staff constantly checking up on me and asking me if the food was okay- they were friendly and really helpful.
"I will definitely be returning when I’m next in town.
"I recommend this place to anyone who wants an all round excellent dinner!"
The Man In The Moon is not without its issues though, some customers reported slow and sometimes rude service.
One TripAdvsior user wrote:"I am a fan of Wetherspoons but this one wasn't great.
"Service was poor. Once received two sets of cutlery for no apparent reason, the next day no cutlery!
"Bread arrived without butter, etc. These sort of minor problems were always a problem to sort, usually having to ask more than one staff member.
"Pretty much always have to queue at the bar, busy or not."
