MOVIE executive Dame Donna Langley — who grew up on the Isle of Wight — has been named as one of the top ten most influential women in the UK.

The news comes within two years of her becoming a Dame, given the honour in the annual Queen’s honours list, announced in December 2019.

The title is the second most senior among Britain’s orders of chivalry.

Dame Donna is chair of Universal Pictures.

The new list was conducted by The Body Shop and reveals the most influential women around the world based on the number of Google, social media followers, Wikipedia page views and GIFs.

In her time at Universal, Dame Donna has overseen such film franchises such as Fast and the Furious, Despicable Me and the Bourne films.

Throughout her career, she has supported mentorship opportunities for women. Donna helped launch The Hollywood Reporter's Women in Film Mentorship programme.

The list also looked at the Top 100 most influential women in the world, which named Ariane Grande as number one, with a staggering 328 million social media followers.

Media and entertainment scored big, with Kim Kardashian second and Taylor Swift third.

US politician Kamala Harris received the most Wikipedia page views in 2020 with over 39 million.
