MP BOB Seely, East Cowes and Isle of Wight councillors were out today (Friday), celebrating the Island's success in securing £5.8 million from the government's LevellingUp Fund.
East Cowes will be the main beneficiary of the cash boost from the government, which was announced this week.
Bob Seely, together with councillors Karl Love, Julie Jones Evans, town mayor Michael Paler, Cameron Palin and Stephen Hendry, toured the sites in the town that will benefit.
Mr Seely said the sites visited included the Columbine building, to secure the future of shipbuilding on the Island, the neighbouring barrack site, to be used by UKSA, and the public realm areas between them.
