THE daily number of positive new coronavirus cases has shot up by 139 overnight to bring the Isle of Wight's running total to 12,992 since the pandemic began.
Since last Saturday, the number of cases on the Island has risen by 819.
Public Health England's latest figures released today (Saturday) covers the seven days up to October 2.
The statistics reflect another substantial rise in the rolling rate on the Isle of Wight, from 445.6 last Saturday up to 513.7.
As the Island figure continues to rise, the UK rolling rate over the past seven days has continued to fall.
The UK rate now stands at 344.4 a decrease of 15.1 in the past week.
