THE ISLE of Wight Council says it will be undertaking a review following an incident in Gunville's Home Bargains yesterday (Thursday) which saw a child injured.
The local authority says it is sorry to hear about the injuries sustained by a young girl during the incident, and is wishing her a speedy recovery.
Police were called to the scene yesterday afternoon after concerns were raised for the welfare of two vulnerable individuals — a man and a child — who were involved in an incident at the store.
They said the two individuals were not related to one another, and while no arrests have been made, enquiries are ongoing.
A spokesperson for the local authority said: "We are aware of the other person involved in this incident, who is known to us, but we are not in a position to make any further comments, other than we are currently undertaking a review, as we do with all of our clients known to us under the adult social care remit.
"We are sorry to hear about the injuries sustained by the young girl in this incident, and wish her a speedy recovery."
