Three bus routes have been hit by driver shortages today (Friday), operator Southern Vectis is warning.

Routes 1, 5 and 9 have been hit with cancellations.

In a post on its website, the firm said: "Due to a higher than normal number of drivers being unavailable today, unfortunately the below journeys will not operate.

"We're working hard to minimise these wherever possible.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused."

In September, as previously reported by the Isle of Wight County Press, Southern Vectis insisted it was not a recruitment, nor a Covid-19 issue.
