A jackknifed Cooperative lorry blocked the Isle of Wight's Downs Road earlier today (Thursday).

No-one was hurt in the incident, but the road had to be closed.

Police were called at 10.11am.

Earlier, a statement from Hampshire Constabulary said: "The road has been closed while the vehicle is recovered and we remain at the scene."

For the Co-operative, a spokesperson confirmed to the County Press that there were no injuries and no other vehicles had been involved.

It was too early to confirm further details, said the spokesperson.
