The Isle of Wight Walking Festival is back from tomorrow (Saturday) with events for ramblers of all ages and abilities.
From ghost walks and history-packed strolls to more demanding hikes, the festival runs until October 22.
Working closely with the Isle of Wight Ramblers Association, the National Trust and a number of volunteer ‘Walk Leaders’, the walks are graded by pace; from gentle, to moderate through to strenuous walks for the more experienced hiker.
The New Carnival Company, Isle of Wight ghost expert Marc Tuckey, and DJ and Camp Bestival organiser Rob Da Bank are all leading events.
At the Island Riding Centre, toddlers and young children can join the hunt for real life unicorns, with the ‘Unicorn Treasure Hunt and Story Time.’
Sarah Alexander, co-project manager of the Isle of Wight Walking Festival said: "We are excited to offer over 100 unique and special walks – new and old – across the whole Island.
"There’s a route for everyone, of all ages, from historical short strolls to longer treks that get the heart racing.
"We are looking forward to seeing people switch off and enjoy the great outdoors on the Island this autumn."
