The number of new Covid-19 cases confirmed daily on the Isle of Wight continues to stick close to the 100 mark, as a further 93 positives are added today (Sunday).

According to the latest government figures, there have now been 12,266 cases of coronavirus on the Island alone, since the start of the pandemic.

The Island has seen a steep climb in positive cases among people aged 60 and under.

The highest incidence is among school children and those aged 35 to 49 years old.

On the government's colour coded interactive map, it means the Isle of Wight has turned purple again - reflecting a high rolling average rate per 100,000 people.

It is currently one of the highest rates in the south of England.

In the seven days to September 28 (the data lags five days behind), there were 449.1 cases of Covid-19 per 100,000 Islanders.
