Three counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting a police officer, intimidating a witness, using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour, breach of community order, two counts of assault by beating, criminal damage, possession of cannabis.

Committed to prison for four months, suspended for 18 months. 18-month alcohol treatment requirement. £700 compensation.

Adrian Palmer, 32, care of Southfield Gardens, Ryde.

Drug driving.

Warren Russell, 37, of Sandown Road, Shanklin.

Possession of a knife in public.

Matthew Thomas, 49, of Goring Road, Steyning, West Sussex.

Drunk and disorderly.

12-month conditional discharge, costs £85, surcharge £22.

Martin Cooper, 34, of Barfield, Ryde.

As vehicle driver, failed to provide specimen for analysis.

Disqualified from driving for three years, 250 hours of unpaid work, costs £85, surcharge £95.

Two counts of using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour, and one count of sending an offensive/indecent/obscene/menacing message.

12-month community order, nine month alcohol treatment order, one year restraining order, costs £85, surcharge £95.

James Simon Birchenough, 32, of Osborne Road, East Cowes.

Possession of cannabis, using threatening/abusive/insulting words/behaviour, breach of a community order.

Two-year community order, surcharge £95, costs £85, two year restraining order.

Andrew John Smith, 60, of Gobles Close, Ryde.

Assault by beating, three counts of failing to surrender to custody.

12-month community order, 12-month restraining order, £80 fine, surcharge £95, costs £200.

When a court is sitting in the open, the press can report on anything that happens, unless there are specific reporting restrictions.

As a principle, we do not remove a defendant's identifying information (such as name, age and address) from court reports. To do so would be set a precedent and damage the foundations of open justice. It could also defame someone innocent, who happens to have the same name.
