MORE than 100 new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest government data.
Public Health England figures released today (Wednesday) show 110 new cases.
These follow yesterday's 104, taking the Isle of Wight total, since the start of the pandemic, to 11,877.
The Island's rolling rate per 100,000 people, meanwhile, in the seven days to September 24, was 354.2.
Yesterday, in the seven days to September 23, that figure stood at 327.5.
The data lags five days behind the current statistics.
Two more people have died in the Isle of Wight's hospital after contracting Covid-19.
The latest deaths were recorded on September 26 and 27.
Yesterday, it was revealed the number of cases at Christ the King college in Newport had prompted the school to ask pupils to start wearing facemasks.
Data shows it is young people who have the highest rates of Covid on the Island.
