A SUSPECTED burst water main has left a number of Isle of Wight properties without water this evening (Tuesday).

Cowes, East Cowes and Gurnard are among the areas affected.

Southern Water says it is aware of the issue but repairs have been delayed.

Due to the complexity of repairs, the water provider says the burst will take more time to fix than initially anticipated.

An update is expected at around 11.30pm.

Reduced pressure and discoloured water has also been reported.
