A CAR wash attendant who assaulted the same woman twice in as many days, then failed to comply with the preparation of a report on him for a court to consider imprisonment, was given another chance by Isle of Wight magistrates.
Bogdan Mihai Mistreanu admitted two charges of assaulting the same woman, in Ryde, on May 15 and 16, and causing criminal damage to the windscreen of her car on May 15, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on August 26.
Mistreanu was due to be sentenced at the same venue yesterday (Monday), but the bench was told he had not made himself available to be interviewed by a probation officer, in preparation for a report for them to consider his sentence.
For Mistreanu, of West Hill Road, Ryde, Oscar Vincent said because his client worked in a noisy car wash environment, he missed calls from the Probation Service and was unable to call back as the numbers were withheld.
Mistreanu, 26, assisted in court by a Romanian interpreter, was bailed to re-attend to be sentenced on October 25, with all sentencing options available to magistrates, including imprisonment.
