A BOAT Jumble is being held on Saturday — the perfect opportunity to pick up some bargains.

UPDATE: This event is postponed to Saturday, October 9

There haven’t been many boat jumbles for a while, with Covid exacerbating the situation last year, and delaying plans this year.

A team got together, consisting of Heather Bowley, of Island Harbour Yacht Club, Peter Jackson, of Medina Mariners Association, Dave Foyle, of Folly Water Taxi, and Bob Holt, of Waypoint Yacht Brokers, to organise the event with manager Sam Aston, of The Folly Inn in Whippingham.

Pitch fees are being donated to RNLI, which will have a stand promoting boat safety and giving free life jacket tests, and Ryde Sea Cadets which will have a stand selling jumble to raise funds, and are volunteering to help direct pitch-holders to their spot.

The Folly Inn will be open from 9am to provide sustenance from bacon rolls to full breakfasts. and the gate opens to the public at 10am, until 1pm.

Book a pitch to sell your unwanted boat bits, by calling Sam on 07803 466977.

Pitches are £10, with commercials by negotiation.
