MORE than 70 new Covid cases have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data.

Public Health England figures released today (Thursday) show 72 new cases following on from yesterday's 99.

It means the Isle of Wight total, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 11,353.

The Island's rolling rate has continued to fall.

In the seven days to September 18, the rolling rate was 193.3.

Yesterday, in the seven days to September 17, that figure stood at 196.8.

So far in September, 1,216 new Covid cases have been registered on the Island.
