MORE than 50 new Covid cases have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight, according to the latest data.
Public Health England figures released today (Tuesday) show 54 new cases following on from yesterday's 46.
It means the Isle of Wight total, since the start of the pandemic, now stands at 11,182.
The Island's rolling rate, in the seven days to September 16, was 208.7.
Yesterday, in the seven days to September 15, that figure stood at 222.8.
So far in September, 1,045 new Covid cases have been registered on the Island.
The latest government data shows more than 30 people are being treated at St Mary's Hospital after contracting Covid-19.
The number of patients in hospital with the virus has fallen marginally since September 7.
Data correct on Tuesday, September 14, and published on Thursday, showed 32 people with coronavirus were being treated at the Newport hospital.
The week before, that number stood at 34.
