MORE Covid cases have been added to the Isle of Wight's total but the infection rate has continued to fall.
In the latest update from the government, 34 new cases have been identified.
It takes the total number of cases seen on the Island since the start of the pandemic, now nearly 16 months ago, to 11,082.
Despite the increase in cases, the seven-day case rate, showing how many people have tested positive in the time frame, has fallen further from 267 cases per 100,00 to 242.5 today.
The rolling rate peaked in August, at 444.8, during the summer holidays when an influx of tourists and more people mixing saw the number of covid infections rise.
The Island still falls below England's national seven-day case rate (265) but remains above the South-East region's rate, which currently stands at 220.2 cases per 100,000 people.
So far in September, 945 new Covid cases have been registered on the Island according to the government's figures
