USUALLY a staple for last-minute purchases and a busy hub during the Isle of Wight Festival, this year Fairlee Service Station will close throughout the weekend.
The business has announced it is due to putting their staff first and protecting them from Covid.
The car sales, workshop, petrol pumps and shop will be closed over the entire festival weekend, from 4pm on Friday to 6.30am on Monday, when it will re-open.
A statement said: "We feel it is important to put our staff first and protect them as far as possible from Covid-19."
Along the main road, at Wootton, Terry's Fish and chip shop is doing the same thing, as has also said it is due to Covid concerns.
The popular chippy posted on Facebook: "We have decided to close the shop for the festival weekend commencing Thursday.
"We feel that due to the festival taking place and high Covid rates on the Island we want to protect our staff and customers. We also need to have some work done to enhance the shop.
"Please be patient with us and we apologise for any inconvenience caused. We will be back open on Monday."
Some Island businesses have closed so their staff can attend the festival.
