A POPULAR annual event is back this weekend — the Waverley Beer, Music and Poetry Festival.
The charity event will be held from today (Friday) to Sunday, September 12, at Waverley Park Holiday Centre in East Cowes.
All the proceeds from the beer go to charity and in previous years the event has raised around £2,000 per year for charities such as the Motor Neurone Disease Association, The British Heart Foundation, IW Search and Rescue and Mountbatten.
This year the park has chosen East Cowes 1st Sea Scouts as its charity.
There will be music all weekend, interspersed with poetry, a presentation from the scouts and a fancy dress competition, themed as The Great Outdoors, on the Saturday.
The line up includes Last Chance City, Cryomancy, B O C A, Something About Mondays Duo, Rhirhi, Devils Damned String Band, The Clacks Band, Tim N Her, Jonny Michael, Slombers Woke, Cara Goodrem, Damien Paul Band, Storm IOW, Red Sqwrl, Strawberry Moon, Chasing Scarlett and Steve Love.
Huxley Magic will also entertain the crowd.
