A new Covid-19 death has been recorded at St Mary's Hospital in Newport.

A person died at the Isle of Wight's hospital yesterday (Monday, August 23).

It means there have now been 158 deaths in hospital here since the start of the pandemic.

Deaths in the community, including at care homes and in private homes, are recorded separately.

In all, 137 people have died in the community since March 2020, with the last community death confirmed in April. 

The number of cases have been climbing here and our current rolling rate, over the seven days to August 18, per 100,000 people, stands at 438.5.
