After another medal at the Tokyo Olympics, interest in the game of hockey should be at a high.
The Isle of Wight Hockey Club is hoping to find the next generation of young players for its teams with a week of coaching.
It is running a Hockey Camp, at Smallbrook Stadium, Ryde, from Monday to Thursday next week from 10am to noon.
The sessions are aimed at all abilities, from new starts to those who have played before.
Children attending must bring a gum shield and shin pads.
Other equipment will be provided for those who need it.
Steve Holbrook, club chair, said: "Hockey is a fantastic sport that can be played by all ages, men's, ladies and mixed.
It's great for fitness and meeting new people.
Given the requirement of having the right facilities the opportunities are sadly restricted with Island schools, but not playing at school need not be a barrier to enjoying this great sport.
"The hockey club is open to all, with juniors training on a Sunday morning and adults on a Wednesday evening.
"You can make new friends for life and have a great time while doing it by playing hockey."
