THAT'S Entertainment, From The Jam fittingly played, as the sun set on the final day of Jack Up the Summer 2021.
It had been a truly entertaining weekend and the Sunday line-up was varied and offered something for everyone.
The weather held for the afternoon and evening, allowing the crowd to concentrate fully on the acts gracing the stage.
A huge Conga line had been danced on Friday night but it was recreated on Sunday too.
See video below for giant Conga lines!
Plenty got up to dance along to The Mix and Baby D, whose biggest hit Let Me Be Your Fantasy got the crowd moving. Baby D's husband made a special guest appearance — he is Phil Fearon of Galaxy.
Heather Small impressed with her distinctive and strong vocals. Despite being on stage just half an hour, she played a hit-laden set including Proud and Moving On Up, One Night in Heaven and Search For the Hero.
She had to perform early in the afternoon and fly off from Sandown Airport to get to another gig for the evening.
Abba Chique were fun and entertaining, making sure there was audience participation in their 'Swedish lessons' and performed all the Abba classics.
Hugh Cornwell's set was more serious in tone of course, with fans gathered around the stage to see him perform his own material as well as a few Stranglers' hits, including Strange Little Girl and No More Heroes.
The ground shook when Phats and Small took to the stage due to the audience jumping to the 'megamix of dancefloor fillers' they promised and delivered.
The finale was reserved for From The Jam, who made sure "the public gets what the public wants" with an electrifying set of Jam classics — hit after hit.
In between all the acts was Jack Up stalwart Simon Ledger, who performed a huge variety of music but all perfect crowd-pleasers to keep the momentum going — and in total provided 11 hours of entertainment. He was arguably the real star of the show!
It was brilliant to be back in a festival field and thanks go to the organisers who battled with ever-changing Covid guidance while planning the event, and inclement weather during the weekend.
They said: "After the year we’ve all had it was truly humbling to see so many happy faces."
