THE Isle of Wight Met Service has reported the areas of the Island with the highest levels of rainfall during Monday morning's downpour.
The IW Met Service said the torrential downpours were extremely localised. The showers moved across the Island just before dawn and then stalled in more eastern parts.
At first the north east of the Island saw the brunt of the rainfall, hitting the same locations that saw the flooding last week.
It says at around 8am the shower "back built" towards the south of the Island and then continued to develop in one spot for over an hour.
The IW Met Service concluded: "The worst hit area was Bonchurch with a staggering 134mm of rainfall, although Ventnor wasn't far behind with just under 100mm worth falling in the space of two hours.
"A few other areas saw showers and a few downpours, although rainfall totals outside the severely hit locations were generally less than 15mm."
