An earlier flood alert for Ryde's Monktonmead Brook has been upgraded to a Flood Warning for the Ryde St John's area.
It means immediate action needs to be taken by some of those who live and work locally - earlier the agency advised that vehicles near the brook should be moved.
The Environment Agency said: "The water level in the Monktonmead Brook continues to rise.
"32mm of rain was recorded in just two hours at Ryde early this morning (Monday), which is over a month’s worth."
It says: "At St John's station water could flow from the railway tracks into the main buildings at the station depot. It could also flood outbuildings and plant and vehicles near Park and Rink Road.
"Heavy showers may continue to affect the area today.
"Flood water across the railway tracks and in buildings could be very deep."
An update is expected at 6pm, meanwhile, a Met Office weather warning remains in force until midnight.
