ENTERTAINER Steve Hewlett has been confirmed for the Isle of Wight leg of a UK interview series to take place later this year.
The ventriloquist, a Britain's Got Talent finalist in 2013, will appear at Gurnard Pines as part of Josh Barry's Beyond the Title series on Saturday October 16.
The event will not only cover Steve's rise as a nationally visible comedian, but will also celebrate his variety heroes from the past.
Speaking about the prospect of appearing in the show, Steve said “ Performing on the Island is like returning to my roots.
"In 1994, aged 19, I was a resident entertainer at Whitecliff Bay holiday park in Bembridge and have since performed in Haven, Warners, Gurnard Pines and more recently at Shanklin Theatre.
"My memory of 1994 is having my day off on Sundays at Sandown Pavilion watching Jimmy Tarbuck, Richard Digance and Stan Boardman who have since become friends.
"My collaboration with Josh Barry has been a complete pleasure and we clicked with our mutual love of comedy and variety performers.
"See you there with many of my characters!”
Josh, from East Cowes, who writes his stories on an iPad by using his nose, has been developing his website crammed with intriguing discussion for around five years.
He has interviewed household names including Jeremy Kyle, Tanni Grey-Thompson, Sir Ian Botham Jimmy Tarbuck, Leslie Ash and Shirley Ballas.
All of his past interviews are available to listen to at www.beyondthetitle.co.uk.
