WIGHTLINK has confirmed the Victoria of Wight will not return to service today (Monday) or tomorrow.
The ferry was pulled from service this afternoon after experiencing 'heavy berthing' at Fishbourne.
The vessel is being inspected in Portsmouth, with damage caused to its prow.
Wightlink says there are no reports of any serious injuries, but the cross-Solent ferry company is contacting the customers who were on the 1pm crossing to offer support.
Berthed in Portsmouth, surveyors are on board to assess the damage and agree any repairs needed.
Wightlink says there will be some delays to sailings this afternoon and evening, but customers are advised to check in as normal as the other vessels will run a shuttle service.
A further update is expected at 12pm tomorrow.
