A SUPERYACHT formerly owned by Chelsea FC owner Roman Abramovich has been spotted off Bembridge and St Helens today (Thursday).

Le Grand Bleu, with an estimated worth of £135 million, is currently anchored off St Helens after a voyage of five days and 17 hours from Reykjavik in Iceland.

It could be here to take advantage of the spectacle of Saturday's Round the Island Race.

The pleasure craft was built in 2000, and purchased by Abramovich in 2002. It is now believed to be owned by his friend, Russian-American oil tycoon Eugene Shvidler.

The superyacht accommodates two smaller boats and has a helipad onboard.
