COASTAL scientist and art historian Professor Robin McInnes will present a talk about his book at Ventnor Arts Club.
Furthest South - From the Scottish Borders to the Isle of Wight, is an elaborately decorated gilt-edged book by the St Lawrence based author, which explores the history of two families from the Scottish borders, who become one family through marriage in the 1950s on the Isle of Wight.
It describes the lives and works of the McInneses and the Laidlaws, who both played influential roles in the cultural heritage of the region over several generations.
The book also details the life and times of the author and how the natural beauties of the Isle of Wight led to a lifetime’s interest and involvement in science and art.
The talk by Professor McInnes is on Tuesday, July 20, at 7.30pm.
