THE Forestry Commission has confirmed tree felling carried out at a proposed glamping resort near Yarmouth did not breach any regulations.

Concerns had been raised by residents about the amount of trees felled at a beauty spot near Lucketts Farm.

Forestry Commission officials have since attended the site of the felling near Yarmouth and established there was no breach of regulations.

The site's arboriculturalist, Wayne Isaacson, said previously that the work undertaken was legal and being carried out within a woodland management plan.

A Forestry Commission spokesperson said: “We take the protection of trees and woodlands extremely seriously, and won’t hesitate to investigate any allegations of illegal tree felling.

“If there is no felling licence or other valid permission in place, or if the wrong trees are felled, we will take action.”

Alan Short and Simon Hirst are the co-owners of the land, and plan to introduce a new, extensive treehouse and glamping resort to the area.

It will offer a unique glamping experience in an eco-friendly retreat, and work is currently underway to bring the woodland resort to life.
