A MAN from the Isle of Wight will be taking on a 20-mile coastal walk this weekend to raise money for Diabetes UK.
Mike Fletcher will begin the trek tomorrow (Saturday) on behalf of the British-based patient, healthcare professional and research charity which is close to his heart.
He said: "My wife has had type one diabetes for 40 years, which is part of the motivation for my walk.
"I will also be walking in memory of Clive Britton who sadly passed away after contracting Covid-19.
"I will be finishing the walk in Yarmouth, where we will be spreading Clive's ashes. He used to fish off the end of the pier, and this was a favourite spot of his."
Mike has so far raised £425 of his £500 target, if you'd like to help him reach and surpass the goal, you can donate by visiting www.facebook.com/donate/641695743898218/
