A laugh a minute is promised in Ryde next week as one of the town's top hotels hosts a comedy night.
The Firkin Comedy Club at the Royal Esplanade Hotel on Friday, June 4, at 7.30pm, will be headlined by Steve N. Allen, star of TV's BAFTA-nominated The Mash Report.
Allen and an established stand-up.
Also on the bill are Susan Murray, from The Job Lot, and Sachin Kumarendran, along with local talent in the form of Iona Stewart-Richardson, Isle of Wight Radio's news reporter.
Iona said: "This is only my second stand up gig but it is great to be part of a comedy night at an Island venue."
The evening will be MC'd by Geoff Whiting, one of only a handful of comics worldwide to have performed stand up comedy in a pod on the London Eye (for the One Show).
He was the first English speaking comic to ever perform at Club 99 in Bucharest, Romania.
Geoff said: "We are delighted to bring a top comedy show, that would not be out of place in the West End of London, over to Ryde.
"This is an amazing lineup, featuring not only the Island's very own ace radio reporter but acts that play all over Europe and indeed further afield in the USA and Australia.
"We have brought together four of the most talented comics on the UK circuit for an amazing evening of standup."
Tickets, priced £10, are available from the Royal Esplanade website.
