PROVING the Island is building momentum in the film industry, another new business has recently launched in this arena.

Lobster Locations is a film locations agency, also offering a location management service.

Set up by two Island-based friends, Lisa Henry and Rowan Middleton-Leal, Lobster Locations comes with more than 25 years’ experience in the film location industry and the corporate world.

Lisa has been a location agent and worked on numerous productions, from still shoots to feature films, while Rowan worked in the City as a commercial lawyer before relocating to the Isle of Wight, where she was formerly the general counsel of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.

Lisa also rented her own home out as a film and shoot location for years when she lived in London, so she can advise on the experience from all angles.

Lisa and Rowan believe this combination of skill sets is an important one for clients, as locations work involves a lot of insider knowledge and a fair bit of contract negotiation!

They are curating an exclusive portfolio of properties to serve as shoot locations, and have already worked on a number of film and TV productions in the short time they’ve been established, and found a number of properties for The Beast Must Die, recently filmed on the Island.

Bill Twiston-Davies, supervising location manager on The Beast Must Die, said: ''The council, police, various town councils and (in particular) the National Trust, Lobster Locations and Wightlink have all been really helpful and supportive."

He said he would 'wholeheartedly recommend' Lobster Locations after they 'pulled several locations out of the hat' for them.

Lisa said: “We are very much looking forward to watching The Beast Must Die, and seeing all the properties we helped to source on screen, which are some of the most interesting on the Island.

"We’re excited to be involved in promoting the Isle of Wight."

Properties appearing in The Beast Must Die included Fort Redoubt, an imposing and impressive private residence. Formerly a Palmerston Fort and built in 1855-86, it includes a Caponier (a fortified building which is built into a moat).
