EMERGENCY services are attending a large fire in Arctic Road, Cowes, this morning (Tuesday).
The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire Service has sent two crews from Newport, one from Ryde and one from Cowes to the scene.

It is unclear at this stage what type of building or property is affected, but black smoke can be seen from all around the town and from over the river in East Cowes.

UPDATE: The fire is at a residential property near the junction with South Road.
Paramedics are also at the scene.

The road is blocked at the moment, while four crews attend the incident.
UPDATE, 12pm: Three people have been taken into the care of paramedics.
While the main fire seems to have been put out, smoke is still coming from the property.
UPDATE, 12.45pm: Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue said three people — one in their sixties and two in their twenties — are being taken to hospital for effects of smoke inhalation.
