The former Conservative-held ward of Binstead and Fishbourne has fallen into independent hands.

As the Isle of Wight County Press previously reported, outgoing Isle of Wight Conservative councillor John Kilpatrick, publicly threw his support behind independent Ian Dore, instead of Conservative Ed Hopper.

Now Mr Dore, a former soldier, radio presenter and club DJ, has won a seat as a councillor at County Hall.
