The Isle of Wight Council has its first Labour councillor since former party member Geoff Brodie switched to become Independent in 2018.
Richard Quigley has unseated incumbent Conservative Richard Hollis in Cowes North.
They ran a head-to-head race in the ward.
Earlier, the Isle of Wight Council Leader Dave Stewart lost his seat to Green Claire Critchison.
He made the announcement before the final results were confirmed, due to a problem with 'misplaced' votes that meant candidates were given provisional results before a final declaration.
