With reports suggesting we should be expecting a 'mini-heatwave' over the May bank holiday, Isle of Wight forecaster Jamie Russell is not so sure.

The Isle of Wight Met Service boss has told the County Press it is too early to be sure about what to expect on the Island between May 1 and 3.

In recent days, he has seen data that suggests wintry showers, or frost, could also be a possibility.

According to the national Met Office, 18C sunshine will be followed by cooler temperatures as we head towards the end of the month.

Jamie Russell says the bank holiday forecast will be clearer in the coming days, meanwhile.
