A MAN has been charged with drink driving following a collision in Cowes involving several vehicles.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary confirmed this morning that a man from Milton Keynes has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

They said: "At around 10.30pm last night (April 17) officers came across a collision on Newport Road in Cowes.

"A Honda Civic, a Volkswagen Polo, and a Kia Sportage were involved.

"One of the drivers sustained minor injuries.

"A man has since been charged in connection with this incident.

"Nicholas Steven Smith, aged 51 years, of Witan Gate in Milton Keynes, has been charged with drink driving.

"He has been bailed to appear at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on May 7."

Police and fire crews attended the scene last night.
