AN ISLE of Wight photographer has had a successful night at the virtual British Photography Awards (BPA) this evening (Wednesday), winning the People's Choice Award.
Sienna Anderson was recognised for her stunning underwater image showcasing the Murano glass Mermaid Gin bottle. winning the People's Choice Award in the face of stiff competition.
Sienna said: "To win People’s Choice is an absolute honour, the feeling is incredible!
"Just knowing thousands of people worldwide voted for my image is truly special. I would like to thank everyone who has supported me."
Sienna created the image using a diver's oxygen tank fixed with fine rubber tubing, piercing tiny holes to create the amazing effect when the valve was opened.
All of this was shot from within a fish tank inside a studio.
Sienna was drawn to the biodegradable, plastic-free ethos of Mermaid Gin, which has its headquarters on the outskirts of Ryde.
This is not the first time Sienna's work has received national recognition, following success at the Bird Photographer of the Year awards in 2018 and a place on the shortlist at a number of prestigious photography events as her impressive portfolio continues to expand.
